Lanchester Pharmacy
Lanchester Pharmacy, an independent, community pharmacy, run by Mark and Anita Burdon, supported by their dedicated staff, has been at the heart of the village since 2004. They offer the full range of pharmaceutical services as well as a well stocked shop for non-prescription medicines, cosmetics and other products. They also have a private consultation room where any issues can be discussed
confidentially. These services take some of the pressure off doctors surgeries and mean that patients can be seen almost immediately. They also offer a free delivery service for those who cannot travel so easily.
Community pharmacy is an ever-growing sector of healthcare that offers an expanding range of services. Recently, Lanchester Pharmacy has taken on seven new services covering: shingles, sore throat, sinusitis, impetigo, urinary tract
infections, children’s ear infections, and infected insect bites. Within this new Pharmacy First scheme you can book an appointment with a pharmacist and receive the most appropriate treatment. This has allowed community pharmacists to utilise their skills and makes treatments for these conditions more accessible.
They deal with prescriptions from the local doctors but also offer the Covid and flu vaccines for those eligible, travel vaccines and advice, blood pressure checks and general health advice. They are also able to deal with veterinary prescriptions.
A pharmacy is an important part of any community, especially for those who are not able to travel easily, and they are an essential part of the NHS helping everyone to remain fit and healthy.
The whole range of the services offered by the pharmacy can be found on their website :- lanchesterpharmacy.co.uk
